Infrastructure Experience

Pre-Transaction

  • Conducted marketing sounding to assess market interest in the delivery model of the Scarborough Subway Extension Project.
  • Conducted preliminary engineering study for the redevelopment of 10 regional railway stations, helping client obtain budget approval from the Ministry of Transportation.
  • Conducted site plan approval study for condo developers around Toronto, assisting client in maximizing development area while securing the site plan approval from the municipality.

Transaction Phase

  • Developed schedule and cost for the construction phase, including lender securities required for the construction drop down agreement.
  • Conducted schedule and cost risk analysis to ensure the appropriate level of contingency in the bid price.
  • Negotiated the structuring of the project agreement with the client and the dropdown agreement with the consortium.
  • Negotiated the structuring of the constructor-operator interface agreement.
  • Coordinated with the Capital team to perform lender due diligence to secure project financing.
  • Manage transaction timeline and work stream.

Construction Phase

  • Managed the construction phase of the Whitby Rail Maintenance Facility and the Cooksville GO Station Redevelopment.
  • Managed and assessed construction claims.

East Rail Maintenance Facility

The facility:

  • Is designed to accommodate future electrification and be approximately 500,000 square feet, including shops, a maintenance facility, as well as offices and parking for staff.
  • Has sufficient tracks for storage and daily maintenance of up to 22 – 12 car passenger trains (13 at substantial completion and capacity for an additional nine in the future).
